Robin has over 35 years experience in the London and Home Counties property markets with his first experience coming in the mid 1980’s. He specialises in Valuations (Tax Related / CGT/ ATED / Probate / Current and Retrospective) / Building Surveys / RICS Homebuyers.

Having studied at Southbank Polytechnic and Anglia University where he obtained his BSc in Building Surveying, he worked as a Contract/Project Manager for Rank Hotels, which tasks included the refurbishment of parts of their 4* and 5* hotel portfolio in London, including the iconic 1930s built White House Hotel in London, Euston.

He then pursued a 10-year career with the London borough of Islington’s Building and Surveying department successfully overseeing and implementing vast improvement and regeneration projects across the Borough.

Local Authority experience was useful but he then re-entered the private sector in 2000 as a Valuer and Building Surveyor for well-regarded firms, including Colleys, Ashdown Lyons and Shepherds.

After many successful years in the Wimbledon office of Ashdown Lyons there came the Global Financial Crash (GFC) in 2008 and which caused the collapse of Ashdown Lyons. Determined to carry on, he and one of his current partners (Fraser Maldoom) identified a gap in the local market providing a reputable Surveying and Valuation service so they set up a practice in 2009 and subsequently sold it in 2021 to a significant middle eastern property consultancy firm.

After much research, Robin and Fraser decided that there was a place for another practice specialising in both residential and commercial property matters and as a result they established Residential Surveys and Valuations Ltd now t/a Residential and Commercial Chartered Surveyors and Registered Valuers, with Amit Sharma.
